I've always wanted to go to the symphony's "Petting Zoo," but they seem to be during the week.  Does anyone know if they do these events on weekends, too?

A Lake Norman area event to consider:

Lake Norman Elementary's Fall Festival

Sat. Nov. 7th, 11 am - 3 pm

Lake Norman Elementary (255 Oak Tree Road, Mooresville 28117)

Food, games, inflatables, prizes.  Great silent auction Gift baskets, a chance to win an American Doll or Nintendo DS.

I dunno. The musical petting zoo thing is a cool idea, but with our recent "health crisis," this germaphobe will not be attending with her children. (At least not this year.)

The Chocolate Festival sounds ... well ... decadent! I hope we are all well enough to go to that! YUM!

Beverly,

That's true about the germs. didn't think about it.

Anything with chocolate is fun.  Of course we now have about 30 pounds of it in our house.

Yeah, I thought the timing seemed a little silly. They should've done it just before Valentine's Day or something like that and make it a selling opportunity. (I'm sure there are vendors there.)

Master of the mommy universe, chances are I am racing about town in the minivan, listening to a dvd that I have heard 20 times, fielding questions about all manners of things while handing over snacks on our way to the next event.

I would imagine that, for some people, any time is a good time for chocolate!  LOL.

Hello TR Families and Contacts!

On Sunday evening, November 15th, several student organizations at Davidson College will be hosting a charity concert that will benefit PTA-Too families and raise awareness about special needs-related issues. We would love to see you there and are asking that you please help us spread the word. It will be a wonderful opportunity for our children's typical peers to learn about the beauty of embracing diversity!

The concert will include three of Davidson's a cappella groups (The Generals, Androgyny, and The Delilahs) and is aimed at celebrating the gifts that children with special needs give to the community as well as informing others about the challenges they face.

The concert will be a great opportunity to be both inspired and entertained... all the while helping to make it possible for children with special needs to attend camps and programs that are of vital importance to them and their families. Parents of exceptional children are often faced with tremendous obstacles to overcome and fewer options for their children. The benefits of this concert will help pave the way for more opportunities for their children, at no cost, in order to help them reach further, run faster, climb higher and dream bigger!

The event is open to the entire Davidson community and everyone is encouraged to attend in support of this cause!

Concert Details:
Date: Sunday, Nov. 15th
Time:
5:00-6:00pm
(open to the community)
Place: Duke Family Performance Hall, Davidson College Campus
Performers: Davidson College's a cappella groups
Cost: Donations accepted at the door
Reservations: GENERAL PUBLIC SEATING IS LIMITED. To request a reservation please email
davidsongenerals@gmail.com . We can reserve up to 350 community tickets which will be available at the will-call for pick-up. On the day of the concert, the remaining seats will be on a "first come, first served" basis.
Directions & Parking:  Take the Davidson College South Entrance off
Concord Rd. Park in the Baker Sports Complex parking lot to the right and walk to the Duke Family Performance Hall.

For more details on the concert please contact Jeni Cooper at jeni@pta-too.org .
For more info on PTA-Too, please visit
www.pta-too.org .
For a Davidson College map visit www.davidson.edu .

Please pass this info along to others you know in the Lake Norman area :)

Thanks so much!
