Moms, there is a new mom-to-be, Lynsee, on our sister site in Minneapolis who plans to give birth live on MomsLikeMe.com. She went into labor today (or as I write this I should say yesterday, Friday). Lynsee was given an epidural at about 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

You can keep track of her progress here and give the live video a few moments to load!

This reminds me of our own special day! We went into labor on a Thurs night/Fri morning, water broke on Saturday, baby came early Sunday. What a looooong weekend! But worth every second!

DD1 ~ Started active labor at home around 4pm on a Wednesday at 36 wks (wasn't sure it was "real" labor because I had been contracting for 8 weeks). Knew it was active labor around 6pm. Doula arrived at 7pm. Water broke while rocking on the ball at 7:30pm. Checked into the hospital around 7:45pm (found out I was 5 cm). Started pushing around 8:45pm. Baby born at 9:05pm! That was one whirlwind of a birth!

DD2 ~ Was up all night for two nights because DD1 was sick (DH did almost everything, but I was still up) and because I had been having tons of contractions (for 8 weeks again). Knew I was in active labor around 6am on Saturday one day before my due date. Doula and friend to watch DD1 arrived around 8am. Left for hospital around 9:30am. Got "checked" around 10am (found out I was 5 cm). Labored completely naked ... LOL! Dr. broke my water around 12:45pm? at 9 cm. Started pushing around 1pm. Baby's heartrate kept dropping – it was a little scary. Baby born at 1:20pm (or was it 1:25pm? ) with cord wrapped around her neck. She had to be checked over by the NICU nurse, but she was fine. Thank goodness! I was surprised that my 2nd birth was so much harder and twice as long (albeit only 1.5 hrs longer).

I had two intense unmedicated births and knew during my 2nd labor that I never wanted to do it again! LOL!

They keep replaying her birth. I'm guessing they may do that a few times today.

If the video doesn't start, try watching it using Firefox or click on the second box in the carousel.

(However, if you watch it here in this thread, we get the page views ... not Twin Cities. LOL!)

The close-ups of the baby right after the birth are so beautiful! Her eyes are wide open and she keeps looking up at her Mommy. Oohhhhhh!

Let's hear some more birth stories!

Master of the mommy universe, chances are I am racing about town in the minivan, listening to a dvd that I have heard 20 times, fielding questions about all manners of things while handing over snacks on our way to the next event.
